Students today often resemble miniature entrepreneurs. With high hopes, ambition and education, they’re striving to achieve great milestones at much younger ages. Founders of the most famous social networking sites were still in college at the time of their blossoming! Students have unlimited capabilities, and are proving it every single day. Some students are even breaking in to the writing field, composing articles, poems, novels and – academic essays?

There are more than a few parents, teachers and students that would huff and turn their nose up at the idea of students writing essays for money. In their mind, such an act is completely disgraceful and dishonest, worthy of utmost ridicule. How dare students take advantage of struggling kids like that! Do they really know the whole story, though? Do they really know why students have begun writing essays for money?

Student Writers – Where Did They Come From, and Why?

This isn’t a new concept: savvy geniuses in high school and college have always written homework for a little extra cash. However, in today’s education, students aren’t paying for essays because they’re lazy, or because they want to attend a party (despite what movies may lead you to believe). Student writers today are, astoundingly, providing a much-needed service to the academic community. Emerging out of the woodwork of the internet, they’ve developed freelance profiles and even begun working with online essay-writing services. Why is there such a demand for them now, as opposed to several years ago? The answer lies in the schools themselves.

School systems are pushing enormously for higher grades. With the implementation of several federal laws and the importance on standardized testing, teachers are forced to push a ton of information on their students in an offensively short amount of time. The result is exhausted, overwhelmed students that only retain half of the information teachers throw at them (if that). So what happens when they’re supposed to write an extensive essay, and they aren’t strong writers that don’t understand the content? They turn elsewhere for aid – or fail.

What’s astounding about student writers today is that they aren’t so much in it for the money (you can see that by the cheap prices they offer). What’s more amazing is that these students genuinely want to help their struggling peers. This is a cooperative, supportive attitude that we should be fostering, not shooting down with bias and false perceptions. Students that write essays for money are not only improving their entrepreneurial skills, but assisting their peers by improving their writing skills and knowledge. Student writers should not be shunned; they should be praised! It’s hard to think what much of the academic population would do without them!
